Day 40 – Waiting for the Winter Storm
I’m not going to get all worked up about this possible winter storm we’re gonna start having some time tonight or tomorrow. I hate to be disappointed. What I really want is a big old snowstorm that makes me worry about whether I need to drive into work on Monday morning or not. I want a snow day!
Speaking of not growing up. I just went to the Hallmark store and picked out Valentines to give to my party attendees on Wednesday. It’s looking like we’re going to have about 15 people? Unless some people 1) chicken out or 2) fall asleep because 8 p.m. is way past their bedtimes.
I’m so excited for this party that I’m feeling ridiculous about myself. I’m going to be 54 and I’m having a birthday party?
Okay. Enough of that. I’m excited about my birthday party. The end.

Hope you get the snow day, and the party sounds really fun!
We didn’t get a snow day but our census was so low at work that I got to leave two hours early. Hurray!
I wish I could come to your birthday party … I hope you have a wonderful time!
I wish you could come to my birthday party, Leslie!
I wish I could come to your birthday party too! It’s been so long since I got out my fancy white roller skates with the green wheels & huge matching pom-poms on the toes. Do they still wear those?! I would be stylin’ even if I feel down a time or twenty.
Y’all take lots of pictures!
I haven’t been skating in over 30 years so I don’t know if they still wear pom poms. I do know that my party guests will each have a bright pink plastic heart tied to their skates because I bought some for them!
) There will be lots of pictures!
Ha…feel down. I can’t even blame that on auto correct since I’m on the desktop
Hope you have ridiculous amounts of fun at your bday party, skater gurrl!!
Don’t you mean Sk8tr Gurrl?

Know what surprised me most about this post? Wishing for a snow day? NOPE. Getting excited about a birthday party? NOPE. But 54? Really? Are you? You fucking well dont look it! And, no, Im not just saying that because youre my friend. You actually, really, properly, dont. s x
You really need to move over here and into my neighborhood! Do you know how much fun we’d have together?!
