Day 7 – Here You Go
Let’s see. What should I talk about today.
Oh! Finally! I feel as though that stomach virus I had is gone! I woke up today and for the first time in over a week, there wasn’t a knot in my stomach. I felt almost downright peppy! I didn’t hate having to go to work, as I’ve been feeling since I came down with the first winter virus, back on December 15.
Almost a month of stupid illness. Blecch.
And…there was light outside after 5 p.m. this evening. We might just make it through this winter. I stopped on the way home from work and ran my car through a gas station car wash. My vehicle was covered with road salt grossness. These are the things I hate about winter. Short days and filthy cars.
It helps that it was in the mid 30s today in Minnesota. In January. Mid-winter thaws are the best. They give you hope that the days won’t always be so cold and dark.
Can I stop talking about the weather?
I think I can!
Of course, now I’ve run out of stuff to blog about!
Wait!
Did you watch the new two-hour episode of Downton Abbey? Season 3.
I love that show.
I watched the first two seasons on my laptop so it was thrilling to watch it on our big, high definition, t.v.
Do you watch it?
Wasn’t Shirley MacLaine a hoot? Isn’t Maggie Smith awesome?
Couldn’t you just smack Matthew on the head for being so righteous?
Do you think Edith will have to save the family home?
Wouldn’t that be ironic?
One more thing…
Did I tell you that I made Creme Brulee for the first time, ever, yesterday?
I followed the Pioneer Woman’s recipe and I’m a bit confused. She said her recipe made 6 servings but I ended up with 12 servings. Unprepared for that, I was miffed and ended up over-baking the first six cups. But I scraped off the over-baked tops and nobody was the wiser. The next six were much better. All are tasty and it’s not hard at all to make it.
It will definitely be the Year of Creme Brulee!

The Year of Creme Brulee sounds like a good year!
I noticed it was light later tonight too! It’s a wonderful moment, every year.
Sorry, that was me. I have no idea why it’s decided to call me that.
I made some type of chocolate covered brownie bites from one of her recipes and the amount that made was way off. I had a whole lot of batter left after I filled my mini muffin pan. It wasn’t even supposed to be enough to fill it. They were delicious though.
